Susan E. Moore, Ph.D., is the current co-leader of the Climate, Forests and Woodlands Community of Practice. She is committed to bringing research based knowledge on sustaining forests in a changing climate to forest landowners and the Extension community that supports them. She is Extension Associate Professor and Director of the Forestry & Environmental Outreach Program in the College of Natural Resources at NC State University (since 2000). Susan manages a team responsible for providing continuing education for natural resource professionals, and forestry outreach and knowledge transfer to NC school teachers, environmental and conservation organizations, forest landowners, Extension professionals and other agency staff. Prior to 2000 she worked in forestry consulting and as the Forested Wetlands Extension Specialist at the University of Florida. Susan’s research interests focus on issues affecting family forestry, including forest certification, forest policy, climate change adaptation and conservation-based development.
